Vision Nissan - 2024 Nissan Armada

While the Nissan Titan pickup truck sets sail for sunset after the 2024 model year, its close cousin, the Armada SUV, is revving its engine for a new adventure. Reports indicate a third-generation Nissan Armada is on the horizon, ready to take on rivals like the Toyota Sequoia in the full-size, body-on-frame SUV segment. Nissan has reportedly whetted its dealers’ appetites with a sneak peek at the new Armada, hinting at a potential reveal in the near future. This news will likely excite fans of the spacious and powerful Armada, and we can expect more details to emerge soon.

Just like the Toyota Land Cruiser shares its DNA with the Lexus LX and GX, the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX80 have traditionally been close cousins. While styling and premium features set them apart, much of what lies beneath the sheet metal is very similar. Therefore, when Infiniti unveils their next full-size SUV, we can expect it to offer valuable clues about what Nissan has in store for the next-generation Armada.

Engine Specs Confirmed!

Early reports from Automotive News suggested a significant upgrade for the next-generation Armada: a more powerful and efficient twin-turbocharged V6 engine. This news has been confirmed by Nissan, with additional reporting  confirming the new engine will bump horsepower from the current 400 to a healthy 424. The Armada won’t be going solo with this upgrade, as the 2025 Infiniti QX80 is also confirmed to receive the same potent twin-turbo V6. Paired with a new nine-speed automatic transmission, this promises an exciting combination of power and efficiency for both Nissan’s flagship SUV and its Infiniti counterpart.

Nissan’s flagship SUV, the Armada, is set for a bolder look and a more premium feel, according to Automotive News. Expect a larger body with rugged styling cues, along with redesigned headlights and taillights. The interior will also receive an upgrade with higher-quality finishes and larger screens.

An Electric Future?

Nissan is shifting gears towards an electric future, with a focus on driver benefits. Plans unveiled to dealers show an ambitious strategy: launching 27 new electrified vehicles by 2030, with a whopping 19 being pure battery electric (BEVs). This exciting rollout could feature revolutionary solid-state batteries, promising significant improvements over current technology. These next-generation batteries could offer drivers a longer range and improved efficiency, translating to fewer charging stops and a more eco-friendly driving experience.
